FRILOT WINS DEFENSE VERDICT IN ENVIRONMENTAL WHISTLEBLOWER CASE
Miles Clements and Heather McArthur successfully defended a maritime client against claims brought under the Louisiana Environmental Whistleblower Act. Plaintiff claimed he was terminated in retaliation for reporting an environmental violation, and sought treble damages for lost wages as well as emotional distress damages and attorneys' fees (allowed under the statute).
After a jury trial before Judge Eldon E. Fallon in the Eastern District of Louisiana, the jury returned a verdict for the defense, finding that Plaintiff was not entitled to any of his requested relief and awarding him nothing.
