David A. Olson is a partner with Frilot and heads the firm's products liability practice group. At this stage of his nearly forty year career, he has elected to take a minimalist approach to reviewing his background as a lawyer, including education, admissions and memberships. A simple email or telephone call to him, requesting additional information and references, will receive a prompt and comprehensive response.

For the first fifteen years or so of his practice Mr. Olson focused in the field of admiralty and maritime law. In fact he remains one of the few lawyers in New Orleans who has tried to conclusion, successfully, a limitation of liability case. This reported decision remains one of the key discussions about limitation in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana.

About thirty years ago there was a rapid expansion in the products liability practice at the firm where Mr. Olson was then a partner. As an experienced litigator with a significant history of jury and bench trial work, he was recruited to join that practice area. The rest is history of a sort.

Since then, Mr. Olson has specialized in catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death and major property damage litigation for clients nationally. Mr. Olson has particularly extensive experience in cases involving fires, LPG and natural gas explosions, electrocutions and carbon monoxide poisoning. This involves success at all stages of litigation: discovery (including of the complex electronic nature), experts (including Daubert motion practice), dispositive motions and trials to verdict and judgment.
